Why we made this one
The books about a new baby usually end at the hospital door with everybody smiling. What a two to six year old actually meets is a quiet house, a grown-up who is tired, a lap that is busy, and a noise at four in the morning that nothing seems to stop. So the story keeps all of that in, and says the true thing about the crying: it is not your fault, and it is not your job to fix it.
